Welcome to the BASIC community.  Our new website is up and running, check it out at www. basicatlang.org.  If you have attended BASIC this year, THANK YOU we have had an exciting and spirit-filled first 3 weeks!!  If you haven’t made it to BASIC yet, we would love to meet you!  BASIC happens on Thursday nights 8PM in Lang Hall on the UNI campus. Everyone is welcome.  If you are new to BASIC this is what we are all about.

MISSION

BASIC is a college-age worship community.
We exist to unite people on campus by helping them join in the work that Jesus is doing in their life and in the lives of others. All are welcome.
We accomplish this primarily through Jesus-centered worship music, Biblical teaching, small groups, serving others and authentic community.

Kinect Groups

Get Plugged In! Kinect Groups are a fun way to build relationships and get plugged in to a local church.

Kinect Groups are led by upperclassmen and hosted by a family from Orchard Hill Church or Nazareth Lutheran Church.  Each group will meet one time per month with the host family in their home.  The group will also meet twice a month for activities in the community, such as, sporting events, bike rides, river floats, dinner, etc. Click here for online sign up

Fall Retreat

Fall Retreat is a great opportunity to get off campus, relax, have fun.  Connect with other students, friends and leaders while building relationships and community at beautiful Ewalu Bible Camp in Strawberry Point. We will hike, play 9 square, eat great food and jump off things.  

When: Saturday, September 28 to Sunday, September 29
*depart from Orchard Hill Church at 9:00am Saturday (transportation provided)
*return to Orchard Hill Church by 3:00pm Sunday

Cost: $60 ($20 non-refundable deposit holds your spot)

College-Age Sunday School

College age sunday schoolStarting at 9:30am on Sunday mornings,  will be drinking coffee, eating delicious breakfast foods and studying the book of Ephesians.  We would love to have you join us.  All college-age people are welcome and invited.  Class will be led by Karla Chestnut, Michael Van Waardhuizen, Derek Kimball and Kurt and Kara VanderWiel.  Contact Karla Chestnut kchestnut@orchardhillchurch.org for more info.

Small Group Bible Studies

Small Groups are a great place for life change! Modeling the life of Jesus and his small group of followers that changed the world, we want to offer the same opportunity for you to grow in your faith and impact the world by being in a small group.  In our small groups we will study Scripture, share food and most importantly share our lives with eath other in a weekly gathering. Childcare Help Needed on Wednesday Nights

If you are interested in serving at Orchard Hill through childcare, and getting a free meal and an extra buck at the same time, please contact Cadi at traskc@uni.edu.
Where: Orchard Hill Church
When: 6:00-8pm (5:45pm free dinner) Wednesday nights Oct 2-Nov 6 (6 Wednesdays)
What: childcare: 2 people in 0-4yr olds, 2 people in 5-11yr old (+ 2 alternates)
PAY: $12 per night 

Part-Time Nanny Needed

I am looking for a part-time nanny for our 3-month-old baby girl for the fall school semester. You will be needed 1-2 days per week (Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Requirements for applicants; Must have Mondays and Wednesdays free from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
for the fall semester. Applicant should have experience caring for an infant and enjoy taking care of babies, must know infant CPR or be willing to take a class at Covenant Hospital (I will pay your registration fee), Must be comfortable around a dog.We are looking for an honest, reliable, responsible, and caring individual. References, an interview, and a background check will be required.
 Some perks for this position are competitive pay, a nice, clean, smoke-free home close to campus, access to wireless Internet, Cable, and laundry while you are at our home.  I am a teacher, so my schedule will mirror yours. This means you do not have to work holiday breaks unless you want to (Thanksgiving, Christmas) We will not require your services every single Monday and Wednesday unless you would prefer it for income reasons. This means you can have breaks every now and then such as before Finals, etc. This also means that if you have a family emergency, get sick, etc. it will be ok. THe best perk is you get to care for a happy and healthy 3-month-old baby girl!
